1965 Gibson ES-335 Red, Excellent, Original Hard, $8,000.00

Early 1965 trapeze tail ES-335 in red. Transitional neck (a little over 1 5/8" nut) that starts out medium and gets pretty serious (1") by the twelfth fret. All nickel hardware, non patent nickel ABR-1 and 17 degree peghead angle make this an early one. Put on a stop tail and it's a 64. Original except for recent re-fret. Finish condition is unusually clean-no checking at all anywhere. A little worming on the back but nothing through the finish. Shines like new. I would call it a 9+. It is marked "2" on the headstock probably for the dark grain lines on the back of the headstock. Those are absolutely 100% certainly NOT cracks-just darker grain.
