Description

Unbelievably nice example of an all original near mint 1959 Gibson ES-335 semi hollow electric guitar with original brown hard shell case. Last quarter of 1959 A31xxx serial number range, stupid clean, straight instrument suitable for collecting or playing, no modifications or repairs. Slim but wide 1959 neck profile, definitely not the larger late 58 early 59 neck but still significantly larger than a 1960's profile neck. There's an era of Gibson semi hollows that are considered the best in the world, this is definitely one of them. Legendary feel unlike anything since and specific to Gibson's of this era, a neck shape so good you wonder why they all aren't like this. Absolutely no fret wear, there are a couple of tiny marks on the first fret only, no other wear present. Perfectly straight neck with a working truss rod, all original electronics, unmolested all original PAF pickups, never examined until recently, of course both covers are soldered in place original from the factory, the original ABR-1 bridge is beautiful, the studs and tailpiece perfect. Original amber translucent knobs are perfect, pointer washers shinny like new. Original single line Kluson tuners are perfect with no oxidation, the original factory black stinger on the back of the peg head simply gorgeous and very rare. Most semi hollows of this era have a one piece top and back but sometimes they are two-piece, sometimes the top or the back only, this one has a two piece top and back, nice. Not quite new condition but close, easily near mint with no playing wear, there are however some superficial scratches and a couple of very small marks easily seen in the many explicit photos. Absolutely gorgeous brown hard shell case with bright pink interior included, the gold latches are shinny like new, the brown wrap perfect, the bright pink interior looks like new. A great investment a great guitar in the best possible condition. Only $42999.00 Thanks, VGA
