1961 Gibson ES-345 Sunburst, Excellent, Hard, $11,000.00

HOLDReal nice clean '61 original stoptail ES-345. Some 60's 345's are great lookers, some are great players and some get to be both. Exceptional sustain and excellent perfectly matched PAFs. Both read 7.84K. The original stereo circuit has been converted to mono using the original Varitone and new pots. The original pots are included. Bridge PAF was opened to flip the magnet for mono use. Some wonderful birdseye on the front and killer flame on the back. Finish gleams like new. There is some minor checking and some buckle wear on the back. The gold shows considerable wear which is pretty usual. The frets are original and in fine shape. There is minor wear on the fingerboard at the first two frets but nothing glaring. The tuner tips are aged repros but the tuners are original. This guitar has never had a Bigsby or other tailpiece, nor has it ever had other tuners. Neck profile is 1 11/16" wide at the nut and has the slim depth which is typical of the era. This guitar has a black vintage correct Lifton case. I've priced this guitar well below the book value.
