1956 Gibson J-160E Sunburst

Wow! The real deal! We had this 1956 Gibson J-160E here about twenty years ago and are so happy to have it back. This is Gibson’s improved second version, the improvement having come in the form of a better adjustable bridge, with what would later become their standard saddle height adjustment screws. Got that same, terrific specially-made-for-this-model hot P-90 pickup, got the volume and tone controls just where you want ‘em. Special bracing pattern found on no other Gibson Jumbos, to mitigate feedback, and ditto for the special laminated top. There are reasons that John Lennon wanted only a Gibson J-160E for those great 1960s Beatles’ hits and all of them are here. Well-played and lovingly so as you can see, and just the same as when we last had it decades ago. It played great then and it plays great now, having been very well taken care of by its recent owner. Can't find more mojo in a true 1950s Gibson than you have here, and can't find a better guitar friend neither. $3995 w/hsc
