I can barely believe how spectacular this 1960s Gibson J-200 sounds; it is absolutely off the charts, way better than even most of the 1950s J-200s I’ve ever played, and there have been lots. It originally had a Tune-o-Matic bridge saddle, but that transgression has been cleverly corrected, and in fact the entire bridge has been replaced by the earlier-style “open mustache” type, with solid saddle. I don’t know if this change is what's responsible for the enormous volume and tone of this guitar, but I’ll take it, every day. There is one repaired top crack, with finish superbly matched, as it is in the open areas of the bridge, a museum-quality job. Action fab too, a total keeper of a fifty-one-year-old Gibson J-200. $8995 w/ohsc
