  • Description: Circa late 1940s Gibson J-45 acoustic guitar in Dark Sunburst finish, in overall good condition. This vintage J-45 flattop has some scars for sure, but it's a great great player! This is a great one for the player who is looking for a wonderful old Gibson to take out to those gigs, to write and record with, but is not looking for something that is collector-grade clean. This is THE ONE. Number stamped on the interior neck join is 3284 with a letter or two in red, but is impossible to read. There are repaired cracks to the 45's mahogany back, the top has been refinished in a Dark Sunburst, newer bridge, correct tuners, lots of finish checking to the guitar's sides and back, lots of finish worn off the neck (good!), frets are in great shape, newer nut, excellent replacement pick guard, and some scratches to the back of the peghead - looks like someone tried to scratch their name in years and years ago. The bottom line is that this is one of those with great sound, super low and comfortable action, and very broken-in and burned-in feel, and a warm, bluesy, and intimate sound.
