  • Description: This is a great sounding guitar. It has a fair amount of repairs, but it is a really good sounding and playing instrument. Mahogany top, back and sides, 14 ¾ wide body, 24 7/8 scale, bound top and back, unbound fretboard, 12 frets to the body. The Gibson silk screened logo. Great neck angle. Has the number 193 ink stamped on the neck block, plus 4 other stamped numbers that are faded and can’t be determined. The Gibson silk screened logo. Nicely shaped neck that is not huge and not small, original frets are in great shape. This is a great players grade guitar. A pro luthier did some repair work on this instrument as follows: back crack that runs the full length of the back on the treble side, a crack half as long on the bass side, and one that runs from the bridge down to the bottom of the guitar. The heel block was also cracked when I got it and has been repaired. I had the repair work done almost a year ago, so the guitar has had a chance to settle in, and it looks good. Has some pickwear below the strings , but it fits in well with the age of the guitar. Has five cleats on the back from the repair work. Nice tall, thin back and top braces typical of this era. These 30’s Gibsons have a great feel and look to them, and despite the repairs this is a nice example.
