Description: FON 549B-15 By 1935, the L-50 model had finally graduated to 16” wide, and featured a carved spruce top, small f-holes, a braced flat back, and sunburst finish. The model was one of the lower priced carved-top guitars in the Gibson catalog, but still offered players excellent tone, a great neck, and classic Gibson looks for their fifty dollars. Crack-free single-bound body, mahogany neck with unbound rosewood fingerboard, Gibson silkscreened headstock logo. Original Grover tuners, bone nut, pickguard, adjustable bridge, endpin. New frets and extensive set-up by our shop; the guitar plays perfectly. One back braced reglued by us, along with a fine crack in the heel of the guitar’s neck; no other repairs. Responsive and surprisingly warm, the L-50 has a classic Gibson carved-top tone, and is more powerful and expressive than the earlier small-bodied L-50s and the later pressed-back versions. The neck carve is Gibson’s standard mid 1930’s V, but worn into a rounder profile. Nut width just shy of 1-3/4”, 24.75” scale. With original hardshell Case
