Description

1949 Gibson L-7 black in excellent condition. The serial number indicates this guitar as a 1949 as does the hardware; however it has a small pearl script logo and round neck which indicate a 1946 guitar. Gibson did not apply serial numbers until instruments left the factory. Apparently this guitar was begun in 1946 and finished in 1949. It has the deepest black finish that you only find on Gibson guitars. The special pigments they used in the 30s and 40s give the black an incomparable depth. We did a refret and made a repro pickguard. Includes original brown Lifton case.
