  • Description: ATTENTION LEFTIES!!! It's a 1960 Left-Handed Les Paul Special, sn# 0 83XX in TV yellow. This guitar has a ridiculously cool vibe…you just can’t find these anywhere. Righty TV Specials are not an everyday occurrence, but a Lefty? …PLEASE! This classic may just be a once in a lifetime opportunity. She’s all there but you know this girl was no wall flower and has seen her share of smoke-filled juke joints. The body retains its beautiful TV yellow finish but it has mellowed and checked wonderfully with age. There’s a 2” x 1” “buckle rash” spot on the back. There are a few other smaller spots where the finish has worn through. There was a “double parallelogram” sticker about two inches south of the bridge. The sticker is gone but the TV yellow finish is slightly lighter there (see photos)… I think it adds character. This lefty has that flat, wide, awesome playing neck that is so very 1960. Wow, that was 50 years ago. The frets appear to be original and although they show some wear in the old “cowboy chord” area, there is still plenty of meat left and no wear at all from the 10th fret up. The buttons on the original in-line Kluson Deluxe tuners have shrunk a bit but the tuners still work great and the truss rod works as intended. The neck is straight and plays fast and clean, with no buzzing. The electronics are untouched. The three potentiometers that we can clearly see the pot codes on all read the 34th week of 1960. The two screaming P-90s read 8.27 k ohms for the bridge and 7.93 k ohms for the neck, both measured at the output jack. Much great music must have come out of this southpaw and there is a reason why…just take a look at her…she’s played, heard, and seen it all. This classic beauty weighs in at 7 lbs. 2.2 oz and will be professionally packed with care and will ship in a nicely padded gig bag.
