  • Description: 2002 GIBSON Les Paul Historic '57 Goldtop with Bigsby in MINT condition. Full gloss finish. 9.3 pounds. Big fat '57 neck! This Goldie was born a stop tail, and was properly converted to a Bigsby. I had the original stoptail holes plugged with maple and the entire top refinished professionally by a Gibson Custom Shop qualified luthier. The process took 8 months in order to give the plugs time to acclimate and the filler and lacquer enough time to dry completely. The plug work is perfect and practically invisible. You'll have to look long and hard in reflective light at a certain angle to see this is not originally a factory Bigsby. Some amazing work here and the results speak for themselves. I added plenty of pics. Even with the flash, you can't make it out. The ground wire was properly relocated to the end pin as is done by the factory. Plays great with low, comfortable action. No fret wear. Controls work perfectly with no static or noise. Awesome sounding Classic '57 PAFs. This Goldtop sings which is why I had the work done in the first place. Seriously impressive example from '02 which was a truly excellent time for Gibson's Custom Shop. Very hard to find. If you had to order this from the Custom Shop, the cost would be astronomical and the delay about 18 months. This is a great playing, sounding and looking axe. '57 Goldtops are so cool with a Bigsby and this one was done right. Just set-up and truss rod adjusted, pick-ups balanced. Ready to play. Original Gibson Historic hardshell case with maroon interior included (also in mint condition) included. NO cracks, NO breaks, No repairs, NO issues!
