1958 Gibson Les Paul Junior Cherry, Very Good, Hard, $5,600.00

Summary: This double cut junior has a thick single-ply “tortoiseshell” pickguard making it one of the earliest of the double-cut model. Armed with a single vicious P-90, this cherry red slab-body is a stripped-down rock and roll machine that is a blast to play.
Body: Double-cut one-piece slab mahogany. 13” wide, 1.875” deep.
Neck: One-piece set mahogany neck with a full round back. 24 ¾ inch scale. Rosewood board with dot inlays.
Pickups/Hardware: Single P-90 coil pickup. Black top hat volume and tone knobs. Nickel hardware. Wrap-around combination bridge/tailpiece. Thick single-ply “tortoiseshell” pickguard. Closed-back Kluson Deluxe strip tuners with plastic keystone buttons.
Cosmetics: The body carries the dings and marks of a serious player, but is structurally solid and the cherry finish is strong and deep. There is edge wear along the back edge of the body and headstock. The silkscreened logos are intact and clear. The tuner keys for the D and G strings are slightly bent, but function properly. The rosewood fretboard is nice and dark.
Playability: This guitar is a monster! A lightweight body and fast frets make it a joy to play. The generous 50’s style neck is meaty and feels great in the hand. The single P-90 can do mellow if asked, but loves to sing and growl. The action is low and the guitar has been set up by our on-staff repair tech.
