Offered for sale;

Used 1959 Gibson Les Paul Junior serial number 910675.

This guitar is in very good condition, neck and frets are fine.

Cosmetically there is some wear. So, don’t be looking for a super clean museum piece here. This guitar has not in any way been abused but it has been played. Maybe that’s why most who have played it here in the store remark what an amazing instrument it is without ever plugging it in.

If you are looking for a soulful, funky, Jr. that exudes personality this is your guitar! The truss rod cover and bridge are newer items. Other than that, the solder appears virgin and the guitar remains original.

As most aficionados know the Les Paul Junior and Special were updated part way through 1958. Changes included a new double cutaway body-shape with rounded horns as well as a new standard Cherry finish. Other features of the Les Paul Junior remained the same: the Rosewood fingerboard, slab Mahogany body, stud-mounted bridge, and single P-90 pickup.

The '59 Junior is one of the best playing, best sounding vintage guitars on the market, it's got the tone, look & feel that vintage players are after.

Many believe that the 1959 Junior is the magic year for Gibson necks, they seemed to be perfectly shaped. The one piece mahogany neck just feels right and is super comfortable anywhere on the fretboard. Adorned with a beautiful, Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays, the understated design elements such as slab body, no bindings, single black P-90 dog-ear pickup in the bridge position, stud mounted bridge and Kluson Deluxe tuners all come together to create a guitar icon!

The P-90 pickup gave the guitar a distinct crunch that was desired by rock and blues players of the time, including Leslie West of Mountain, Luther Grosvenor (a.k.a. Ariel Bender) of Spooky Tooth and Mott the Hoople, Johnny Thunders of The New York Dolls and The Heartbreakers, and Glenn Frey of The Eagles. A single cutaway Les Paul Junior also became John Lennon’s main guitar during his post-Beatles years (a Charlie Christian pickup that was eventually installed in the “rhythm” position).

The Les Paul Junior is not a guitar you come across every day, consider this for your enjoyment!

Hard shell case included.

*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.

This is a specific item that is also being offered for sale in our brick & mortar location. It is possible that it has just been sold. Please ask if it is still available before purchasing.

*It is our policy to require a signature on delivery of all musical instruments. Please let us know if you prefer no signature required when ordering or we will automatically require a signature.

If you prefer your item to be sent without a required signature Imperial Guitar and the selected carrier can no longer be responsible for the security of the package once it has been delivered.
