An all original near mint 1960 Gibson SG Special in TV yellow serial number 0 1613 with earlier variant Les Paul body style. Perfect no issue guitar, this rare variant would normally say Les Paul on the peg head but Gibson has decided they no longer want to pay a royalty fee to Mr. Les Paul. Of course by 1968 Gibson was making the Les Paul again and the financial arrangement between Gibson and Les Paul was now cemented and flourishes to this day. Specials as a specie have always been a tremendous value for the money spent, this transitional example is not only a good instrument but also the perfect investment in that in a collectors market rare usually translates to value. The fact that this version doesn’t say Les Paul makes it rare, it also speaks to Gibson’s history and their relationship to Les Paul at that time. We feel this translates into a smart purchase by those that appreciate rare quality and beautiful things with investment potential. The neck is perfectly straight with a working truss rod there have been no modifications or repairs. The guitar reflects almost no playing wear the factory large frets are all there, the guitar plays easily as the large frets allow for easy string bending. The P 90’s are loud and efficient they are buried in the body of the guitar perfect snug fit and sound like it. There are only a few minor marks and scratches but not many. We highly recommended buying instruments in this realm of quality, as the investment yield is always greater when buying rare models in perfect condition. There is no better place to put your money than in this fine piece. 1960 Gibson Les Paul Special TV Yellow serial number 0 1613 near mint all original with original soft shell alligator textured case, original strap, cable and vintage Gibson string package.
