You’ll certainly be seen on TV when you play this beautiful example of a 1958 Gibson Les Paul TV Model in near mint condition. This rare guitar is early for a double cutaway TV and because of this it has a large neck, factory small 1958 frets, sharp edge slab body and other 58 attributes. Most of the double cutaway TV Models were made later and have much thinner necks, larger frets and a more rounded body. We are proud to offer this fine instrument for sale and assess its condition as near mint all original. No modifications or repairs, this is a 100% pristine no issue hard to find collectors grade piece in superior condition. The neck is perfectly straight with a working truss rod, the frets display almost no playing wear. The neck shape is a large, almost soft V and is extremely comfortable, it does taper some and becomes quite a handful by the time you reach the higher octave. The original P-90 is loud and very close to the strings, the guitar weighs nothing, only 7 pounds 6 ounces and you can feel it vibrate and sustain when you play it acoustically. The electronics are all original with all factory solder joints intact, the tone control is slightly stiff from age but does work. The cosmetic condition is incredible, there’s a couple of small dings, one on the back of the neck, one on the corner tip of the peg head, other than that just about like new condition. Some light weather checking has developed in a couple of places but most of the instrument is not checked and still very glossy, looks like the day it was made. More incredible than the cosmetic appearance is the guitar itself, it plays perfectly up and down the neck, the original P-90 is loud and the sustain is what one would normally expect from a late 1950's Standard. We highly recommended buying instruments in this realm of quality, as the investment yield is always greater when buying rare models in perfect condition.
