Wartime Gibson LG2 with the Banner Headstock. Stunning survivor and a lively collectible player. Two piece Adirondack spruce top, single piece mahogany back and sides. X braced with a 24 3/4" scale, 1 3/4" nut width and the soft rounded neck profile (not the big chunky ball bat). The FON indicates one of the last batch of banners built featuring the desirable single piece solid mahogany neck with fully functional adjustable truss rod and mahogany blocks. Clean original finish with no over-spray, nice flat top and crack free with some minor battle scratches. Yes, it's all there sans a better than original authentic replica bridge fashioned from old growth rosewood with a new bone saddle. All original bridge plate, tuners, bone nut, frets and a divot free Brazilian rosewood fretboard. The impeccable luthier work was performed by David Hatchard of New Hampshire which included a neck reset and professional set up with 3-2 action and proper string break over the saddle. These are versatile guitars, equally suitable for finger style country blues, flat picking or strumming either on stage or in the studio. This example has that punch and bright mid range, without a hint of shrillness yet wide open with that dry & boxy tone everyone searches for in a small-boded Gibson. Cannon-like snap and projection that rings out across the room. Great sustain and louder than Hell! Open the high resolution photos all the way for inspection. New well fitting hard shell case. See it played.
