Description

This mid-‘60s two pickup Melody Maker sports a gorgeous cherry finish over its thin slab-style mahogany double-cut body. It has a serial number of 309201. The white plastic tip 3-to-a-side tuning machines, single coil Gibson pickups and black pickguard are all-original. It has a wrap-around stop tailpiece positioned slightly below the bridge pickup. The one piece mahogany neck is good and thick, measuring 1 11/16th” at the nut. It also features a rosewood fingerboard and 22 frets with plenty of life left in them. The guitar is in great shape for its age with some light checking on the top and back and general playwear. The neck has some dings and wear but still plays comfortably. The guitar has been set-up by our in-house tech and is a joy to play! These Melody Makers may have been Gibson’s “student” line but make no mistake; they are not a guitar to be slept on! It is a fantastic vintage guitar that can be scooped up for less than a modern Les Paul! No case included.
