You are bidding on a 1999 Gibson R7 to R9 Burst Project X Makeover. The guitar started out as a 1999 R7 Reissue Goldtop Les Paul. Look what was hiding under the gold. Full documentation of the work check out the thread on LPF: http://www.lespaulforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=177981 For a complete photo journal of all steps visit: http://s967.photobucket.com/albums/ae155/boogieongtr/1999%20%20R7/ The full Project X makeover includes: 1) Strip the guitar & Steam Out Neck 2) Remove fingerboard & binding 3) Reshape the back & neck profile, touch up the top carve to a more accurate 59' carve 4) Rebind the guitar with 50's style royalite binding 5) Install a new dark black Brazilian fingerboard with 50's style Nitrate inlays 6) Installed Retrospec 1" bushings and 1-1/2" Tailpiece studs, Featherweight Nickelplated aluminum Tail Piece 7) Install 2" brass 6-32" Bridge posts (1-1/2" deep into the body) Includes new Gibson no-wire ABR1 bridge 8) Install new 530K plus Pots, Luxe .022 cap on bridge PU, Russian Paper Oil .015 cap on Neck PU, 9) Remove cheap truss rod & sheath, install correct 50's style truss rod & maple fillet strip 10) Glue the fingerboard and neck in using hot hide glue 11) Finish the guitar using correct aniline dyes & nitrocellulous lacqer 12) Re-ink original serial number using correct 50's font 13) Silk screen LP Model using correct color bronze powder. 14) New frets with nibs and nylon nut Excellent condition and from the great years known for killer woods & great tone, (1998-2002) The guitar has the perfect weight 8lbs. 8 oz.
