  • Description: Gibson-Kalamazoo -Recording King Carson J Robison Model K “Jumbo”… 16 1/4″ lower bout , formerly ladder braced now X braced by David Hatchard. Totally original including the hand rubbed sunburst finish, now oxidized to a cool mojo. Rare to find these and this one is oh so honest. The largest of the Gibson Depression era flat tops. Check out the scan from my 1939 Montgomery Ward catalog, showing the stickers offered to “personalize” with your initials, as seen on the lower bout of this example. Extreamly cool original amber tuner buttons on the kluson tuners. FON stamped on back of headstock EW-760 This example has a very cool crack free top and the work we’ve done includes Gibson style X bracing, fretboard divots tastefully filled, completely re fretted, sides refinished and top re bound with old school fibroid ivory, neck re set with new saddle and professional set up with action at 3-2 with proper string break across the saddle and perfect intonation. We love how this one turned out aftet the the X brace modification, now this old girl has got quite the sassy mouth on her, watch Bob spank her in the video. I wouldn’t be suprised if back in the day this one spent many an evening on a New Orleans street corner gathering money in that old original case. Visit my website for more photos and videos.
