Description: A fairly heavy SG-style Les Paul Junior from the second year of its existence, this one is a lively player with a bit more power and weight than usual behind it. With a repro wraparound bridge, it nonetheless transmits a lot of sustain through the body. This is a clean guitar as well, with a nice bright cherry finish and no checking. One of the nicest of these Juniors that we have, it’s also a pretty unique one in terms of feel.
Summary
Body: Mahogany with cherry finish. Finish not browned at all, and nice and bright.
Neck: Mahogany with rosewood fretboard, dot inlays, silkscreened “Les Paul Model” decal on headstock. Wide, medium-thick neck profile.
Pickups/Hardware: One P-90 bridge pickup with high output and throaty tone. Repro chrome wraparound bridge. Labeled, numbered bonnet knobs.
Setup/Playability: Smooth player with lots of sustain and comfortable action. Particularly good for bends with its original frets and loose tension.
Cosmetic Condition: Very clean body, with no checking and only a couple of dings around the edges. Slightly pale neck finish indicates light wear. Slight finish chipping where the original strap button was removed.
Modifications: Changed body-end strap button. Repro chrome wraparound bridge.
