  • Description: Gibson SG Voodoo S#02933xxx This is an SG by Gibson USA with serious mojo. A slighter lighter swamp ash body and specifically-designed Gibson pickups make for a bit more open, airy tone than the beefier rounder mahogany of typical Gibsons. Repaired crack in neck at headstock professionally done by in-house restoration and repair expert Brent Cooper, formerly of world-renowned Santa Cruz Guitar Company. All original (except for 1 tone knob) and plays great with a setup better than the factory! Decent playing wear on top and back - various small scratches and dings including some wearing of the finish on one bout, fairly "RelicĀ®'ed" looking so to speak; not done intentionally, just from heavy play. Here is the press release of the Voodoo line upon release per Gibson: Gibson USA's new Voodoo guitars put a mojo sound and a juju look on four favorite Gibson solidbody models. The X-Plorer Voodoo, Les Paul Voodoo, Voodoo-V and Voodoo-SG all have a swamp ash body, mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard with red pearl Voodoo skull at the 5th fret, black chrome hardware and Black Magic pickups. The swamp ash body and special finish give the Voodoos a lighter feel. Swamp ash is 10 percent lighter than mahogany and more porous. The guitars are painted ebony and then rubbed with red filler; a satin lacquer coat completes the unique stained finish, showcasing the grain and allowing the wood to breathe. Red and black pickup bobbins, a red border around a black truss rod, complement the Juju finish.
