For those of you who may not be familiar with the work of Gil Yaron, this Israeli craftsman hand-builds some of the finest vintage guitar reproductions available anywhere, at any price. He is best known for his incredible LP-style guitars and recently introduced his own 'Bone' model, but Gil has also produced some incredible Pre-CBS style S and T guitars over the years, including the magnificent Broadcaster reissue offered here. This guitar was built for NY-based pro Matt Henderson in 2013. It is as exquisite an example of the early 50's Tele as you will find anywhere this side of a $40K vintage Nocaster. It is of course made of the finest aged Ash wood that Gil could obtain and it has a total weight of just 6 pounds, 12 ounces. The neck is soft V to C shape and has depth measurements of .942" at the 1st fret, increasing to .991" at the 12th fret. While not historically accurate, Gil used 6105 series fret wire and gave it a modern 9.5" fret board radius. Gil makes his own hand-wound pickups and as with everything else he does, they are among the very best available. While my ear isn't the most sensitive (60 years of abuse will do that), but to me these pickups sound like the "real deal." I exchanged emails with Gil about this guitar and he indicated that I shouldn't expect to see another Yaron Tele-style guitar anytime soon, or ever, as he plans on concentrating on his new production models. Except for the fabulous distressing which Gil applied at the workshop, this guitar is in near mint condition and the frets show minimal, if any, wear. The guitar is shown with it's original Warwick molded case, but if you would prefer I will substitute a lightly used G&G case at no extra charge. If you are like me and yearn for the very best guitars available, particularly Tele-style guitars, then this is an instrument that you really should really consider. Amazing.....
