The '6119 Tennessee Rose' was released in 1958.
It was originally released as '6119 Tennessean', then the name was changed to Tennessee Rose.
This model was named after a song by "Chet Atkins," who was an endorser of Gretsch at that time, and has been loved by many musicians since its release, and is still a very popular model.
The 16-inch archtop body with full hollowbody construction is equipped with the "Filtertron" humbucking pickups developed by Ray Butts, giving it "the Gretsch sound" with delicate but not too thin highs and warm but not too thick mids and lows. Dynamic vibrato technique with large sound fluctuation is also attractive.
It is a one-of-a-kind instrument that has established its own taste and sound, and is now used not only in country music but also in a wide range of other genres.
