1970 Gretsch Chet Atkins Nashville 6120/7660 Orange, Very Good, Original Hard, $1,525.00

This gorgeous-looking double cutaway Baldwin era Gretsch Chet Atkins Nashville has a gorgeous ruddy orange wood grain finish. There are a few small stable cracks extending up from the binding at the heel of the neck (see photos). It has been set-up by our in-house guitar tech and plays very nicely with comfortable action. It is currently strung up with Dunlop round wound 10s. The neck has 22 frets on an ebony stained rosewood neck with the hump block inlays and the neck joins the body at the 17th fret on top. The scale is 24.75” and the neck nut width is 1 and 10/16th” with a medium D-shaped neck profile. Most of the binding is yellowed and crackling on the neck and body; there is one 1” spot on the upper side of the back bout that has broken off. It has all the original parts including the black back pad, filtertron pick-ups, headstock plaque, and Gretsch branded Bigsby vibrato system. There is some green oxidation on the neck pick up. The foam pad for the mute is missing and one of the G arrow knob covers is gone. There are two cracks in each of the gold pick-up surrounds likely a result from the screws being over tightened at some point but they are still together and secure. Otherwise there are very few dings or dents or checking issues on this one and cosmetically the overall condition of the finish is still excellent. It weighs in at just a hair over 8 lbs (7 lbs 14 ounces). Overall this Nashville is a fantastic vintage player's condition Gretsch with a player-friendly price to match! Comes with the original hard shell case.
