For sale is this horribly rare 1967 Gretsch 6117 serial number 117955 Cat's Eye Model in all original beautiful condition with original Gretsch hard shell case and accessories. Super clean example, extraordinarily rare, most resembles a Tennessean with two High Low Tron pickups and a Bigsby, however this rarity shares a model number with Gretsch's Double Anniversary Model, the resemblance ends there (not even close). Originally offered in two colors only, black and opaque red, the best feature of this hard to find piece are the cat's eye shaped bound sound holes, a throw back to an earlier era as seen on Gretsch arch tops from the day. Most of the Gretsch Cat's Eye Models have a G tailpiece, this one has an original Gretsch Bigsby tailpiece, making this one all the more unusual. Super clean with the beginnings of Gretsch binding deterioration on the heel cap only. Straight neck with a working truss rod, no modifications or repairs, all original frets are perfect and reflect almost no playing time, electronics are all original and working. Original silver grey Gretsch hard shell case also very clean with some Gretsch accessories in the glove compartment. Priced dropped to a mere $3299. a sound investment, thanks VGA
