Description

This is a fantastic example of a late ‘60s Hoboken-built Starfire V. It features a double bound semi-hollow mahogany body adorned with a gorgeous cherry red finish and has a serial number of EN 1140 embossed in the back of the headstock. The Guild-branded Bigsby vibrato system is very responsive. The two Guild humbucker pickups sound amazing and you can easily dial in your sound with volume and tone for each pickup plus a master volume. The finish is in good to very good condition, minus some general playwear and small finish chips with some light scratches on the back. The headstock laminate is starting to shrink slightly, which is common on many older Starfires. There is some separation in the binding on the back of the body along the horns. The wear does nothing to detract from the overall beauty of this instrument. The neck is super comfortable with a nut width of 1 11/16th”. The frets are worn but still have some life in them. The headstock features the Guild “Chesterfield” logo and the original Grover “Pat. Pend” tuners. It has been set-up by our in-store tech and plays spectacularly. Includes original hard shell case.
