  • Description: This is a 1958 Guild® model T100 with dual pickups. The serial number can be found on the back of headstock as well as on the paper label inside the guitar. The cherry red finish is very unusual for this model. It was built by Guild® Guitars Incorporated in Hoboken, NJ. Sometimes referred to as the "Slim Jim," the T100 is an electric archtop hollowbody with a single pointed cutaway and two f holes. The neck as well the top, sides and back are made of mahogany. The top is triple bound. This T100 has a bound rosewood fingerboard with 20 frets and seven dot inlays. The scale length is 24 3/4" while the width at the nut is 1 5/8". The guitar is fairly light at 5.6 pounds. The width at the lower bout is 16 1/4" and the the guitar depth is 1 15/16". Other features include two Franz (Fransch) pickups with creme covers, a trapeze tailpiece, a gold tone adjustable bridge, and Gibson deluxe tuners with plastic buttons. This T100 Guild® was personalized by an early owner with upgraded Gibson deluxe tuners. The bridge may not be original. There are four knobs of two different types. The gold two knobs are original and the two clear knobs are of similar vintage. At some point foam was placed in the body to reduce feedback. The pickguard was removed and the holes nicely filed in. The binding has shrunk away from the body at the waist and at the bottom of the cutaway which is typical of the 1958 T100. There is a little crackling of the fretboard binding near the nut on one side. There are minor finish scratches on the back and minor weather checking. Overall this guitar looks amazing. This Guild® T100 is a sweet player's guitar with a nice warm tone and a comfortable smallish neck. There is little wear on the wide frets. It has remained unplayed for 30 years until we took it out of the collection to be setup and restrung. We are including a new hardshell case.
