Description

I sold this guitar once before and remembered it as a very, very special instrument. Accordingly, I jumped at the opportunity to have it for my inventory once again. Offered is this great 1229 built by Chihoe Hahn back in 2010. The 1229 is an all Mahogany guitar, with a body that is .25" thinner than usual and it weighs just 6.2 pounds! It's construction gives the 1229 a slightly warmer, richer tone with a bit less bite than most Tele-style guitars. This particular Hahn is really "alive" and it resonates like crazy! The specs include: a large soft V-shaped neck which measures very close to 1.00" all the way from the first fret to the twelfth with relatively little taper; a gorgeous slab Rosewood fretboard with a 7.25" to 9.5" compound radius; 6105 frets; a 1.650" bone nut; Lindy Fralin pickups; CTS pots with vintage cloth wire; three-way switching; vintage-style Gotoh/Kluson tuners; a Fender bridge plate with Hahn compensated brass saddles; and a Bakelite pickguard. The overall condition of this guitar is excellent, but it's extremely thin nitro lacquer finish shows a great deal of clear coat checking (see the 'More Photos' link). This checking gives the guitar a bit of a vintage vibe that some will like and others will not. The finish checking aside, this guitar is in great condition, frets included. It will come in it's original blonde G&G case along with the certificate of authenticity and spec sheet. If you've been looking for something very special to come along, this amazing Hahn 1229 qualifies. You will love this guitar!
