From the White Stripes to the Black Keys, the resurgence of garage-tinged ol’ fashioned rock n’ roll has subsequently renewed interest in vintage Harmonys, Silvertones, and Danelectros. For the guitarist looking to get a nice gritty tone with a huge dose of retro cool the Harmony Rocket sits high above the heap. From their DeArmond-designed pickups to their hollow bodies and thick but comfortable necks there is good reason why these babies are back in vogue among today’s hippest acts. This Rocket (Model H-59) is the three pickup version, sporting those aforementioned fantastic-sounding DeArmond gold-foil “mustache” pickups. The single-cutaway single-ply white bound hollow body features a gorgeous vintage redburst finish and dual F-holes. The bolt-on bound neck is nice and thick with an excellent feel. It is definitely not a guitar designed to be “shredded” upon, instead demanding fluid sustain-drenched runs and chiming chords. The 4-way pickup selector switch, white Harmony-branded pickguard, and white “cupcake” style knobs all help push the “vintage cool meter” into the red with this one! The guitar is in fantastic cosmetic condition for its age with only light-to-moderate finish wear. The wood around the 1/4" jack was split at some point and a white plastic cover has been fabricated to mount the jack on. The frets have some wear but still have life left and overall it plays great! It is nice and balanced, weighing in at roughly 6 lbs 5 ounces. These Rockets are HOT these days so don’t expect this one to stick around too long! Pick this baby up, run it through a green Russian Muff and a Silvertone 1484, and let your inner Dan Auerbach loose! No case included (cases or gig bags can be purchased separately, let us know!)
