Smeck (1900-1994) was an American musician who made over 500 recordings and was known as the "Wizard of Strings" for his skill on the banjo, guitar, ukulele and steel guitar. The neck is 1 11/16" at the nut, a 24 1/2" scale length, 20 frets, and 6 dot inlays. The single bound fretboard is made of rosewood. The single bound body has two f holes, a depth of 2" and an overall length of 40 1/4". Other features include two volume and two creme tone control knobs, two DeArmond™ gold foil mustache pickups, a Harmony chrome tremolo, and Grover sta-tite nickel tuning keys with creme buttons. Roy Smeck's raised metal signature can be found on the upper bout. "MADE IN USA" is inscribed in the white truss cover. The bridge has been replaced with a new rosewood adjustable bridg. It is very similar to a 2 pickup Harmony Rocket, but has a different style "neo-cutaway". Harmony decal logo faded on headstock. Includes original chipboard case in great condition.
