  • Description: With rock and roll riding the tide of the boomer generation, electric guitars became immensely popular, and American makers jumped on the bandwagon. Emerging from that milieu was the Harmony Stratotone. This fine example is the sold-by-Sears Silvertone Stratotone Model 1420, produced from the early to mid-60s. This example has all the hallmarks associated with the model 1420 including the semi-hollow "tone chamber" body; two pickups; two tone and volume controls; tone selector switch; white pickguard; adjustable rosewood bridge; top and back binding; bolt-on neck; unbound fingerboard with dot inlays; open strip tuning gears. Scale length is 24 1/4". This guitar is in excellent condition and retains its original soft case. The fingerboard and frets show only a bit of wear. The original paint is 99.9% intact but for a few tiny nicks around the headstock. The top has a hole where it appears to have had an additional control added and removed. Some oxidation on nickel plated parts. Pickguard autographed by the T-Birds, ca 1992 including Duke Robillard, Kim Wilson, Kid Bangham, Preston Hubbard and Fran Christina.. .. Cool guitar with a rock and roll vibe.
