  • Description: With rock and roll riding the rising tide of the boomer generation, electric guitars became immensely popular, and American makers jumped on the bandwagon. Emerging from that milieu was the Harmony Stratotone. This fine example is the Stratotone Jupiter model H49, produced from the late 50s through the mid-60s, and could arguably be the pinnacle of innexpensive guitars with the most rock and roll vibe. This example has all the hallmarks associated with the H49 including the semi-hollow "tone chamber" maple body with spruce top; two DeArmond™ "Golden Tone"pickups; two tone and volume controls; "Blender" control; tone selector switch; faux tortoise pickguard; adjustable rosewood bridge; multiple top and back binding; bolt-on neck with truss rod; multiple bound rosewood fingerboard with large block inlays; individual open tuning gears. Scale length is 24". Not only is this guitar in near mint condition, it retains its original black and white soft case, and, miraculously, its original papers, including the DeArmond™ hang tag, "suggestions for care the care and use of..." pamphlet, "Placing the Bridge" pamphlet and a mimeographed paper, dated 1959, that explains the functions of the tone, volume and blender controls. Condition is virtually flawless but for the smallest bit of paint wear at the tip of the headstock..everything else sparkles like the day it came off the line. This is the one...! ON HOLD
