2008 Heritage H-535 Transparent Cherry, Very Good, Original Hard, $1,400.00

When the Norlin Corporation closed down Gibson's Kalamazoo plant in 1984 a select group of their top lutheirs decided to start up a new company: Heritage Guitar Inc. of Kalamazoo. Heritage's H-535 offering is their take on Gibson's famed Es-335 model. It features a semi-hollow body construction with a bound transparent cherry red-finished curly maple top and back with a solid curly maple rim. The one-piece mahogany neck sports a bound rosewood finger board with 22 frets and dot inlays. It has a 24.75” scale and measures 1 11/16th” at the nut. The headstock features the distinctive Heritage shape with the script “The Heritage” logo and Grover tuning machines. Dual Seth Lover humbucking pickups give this guitar the ability to do gritty hard rock tones while still retaining its natural semi-hollow woody acoustic properties. It also features a Tune-o-Matic bridge and tailpiece as well as a gorgeous bound Ebony pickguard. The guitar weighs in at just about 8 ½ lbs. Cosmetically there is a finish crack adjacent to the output jack, likely due to the jack having been over-tightened at some point. There are a few small dings and minor playwear but the guitar is in excellent condition overall. The frets are still lively with many years ahead. It plays beautifully with very comfortable low action and is currently strung with round-wound 10s. The H-535 is a fantastic guitar for anyone who loves the 335 but wants something just a little bit different! Includes original hard shell case.
