1998 Hofner 500/1 V63 (1998 Reissue) Sunburst, Very Good, Original Hard, $1,250.00

The Hofner "Beatle" bass reissued by Hofner in the 90's. These are nicer than the newer ones. This one has some history. It was owned by the late Howard Epstein who played bass for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. I have documentation from his family. The bass plays very well and weighs almost nothing. There is moderate oxidation on the pickup covers and the metal parts of the pickups themselves but everything is fully functional. There is some vertical checking in the finish on the front only. It sure looks like it came right from the 60's.
