  • Description: Approximately 271 of these guitars were built by Ibanez in 1981. This gloss black asymetrical guitar crafted in Japan is all original except for the missing mirrored pickguard. The classic shaped Iceman body is maple on mahogany and is bound with seven layers of ivoroid and abalone. The fast playing neck is maple with an ebony fingerboard and is single bound with ivoroid. There are 22 large frets and the fretboard has block inlays of mother of pearl/abalone/pearl. Between the 20th and 21st fret Paul Stanley's name is written in black lettering on white pearloid. The nut is part brass and part bone for extra sustain. The headstock has a Paul Stanley signed mirrored truss rod cover and is bound w/b/w with double ivoroid. Tuners are Ibanez Velve Tune with M shaped pearloid buttons. There are three black speed knobs: neck and bridge volume knobs and a master control. There is a three way toggle switch. The Ibanez V pickups have an H/H configuration and are not covered. The tone is similar to Dimarzio super distortions. Hardware includes a Quik Change tailpiece, a Gibralter locking bridge with brass bridge pieces and an upside down tree stylized mirrored tailpiece. This guitar has been a players guitar as evidenced by the various dings, mostly on the side/back edge of the body and buckle marks on the back. The black, well travelled original case is missing one of its latches.
