  • Description: 1995 Kazou Yairi YM-2. This is a Yairi Masterworks guitar with solid cedar top, multi-layer wood binding, gorgeous abalone rosette, solid Ovankol back and Mahogany sides, 12th fret abalone stripe with pearl cross inlay, rosewood bridge and black pearl dot pins. Headstock has ebony veneer with pearl inlay and tuners are gold and silver AY die-cast tuners. This guitar was signed by Kazou Yairi on the heel in 1995, he only signs the guitars he builds himself. This guitar is very elegant with a very subtle beauty I haven't seen before on a Yairi. The neck is a thin soft V with medium jumbo frets and very low action and a 1 5/8" nut. The solid cedar top just sings with exceptional clarity and separation between notes. The guitar has a very warm tone with the solid Ovankol back and Mahogany sides but the highs still shimmer. The guitar has presence, punch and is very clear while easy to play. Cedar is soft and the top does have a few small nicks and there is also a clear pickguard that is hard to see. There is some light checking that does not go through the finish and moderate playwear on the back Otherwise this guitar is 25 years old and is in excellent shape and SOUNDS AMAZING.
