  • Description: This new bass is a U.S. built Kala Solid Body U-Bass fretted 5 string model that features a lightweight highly resonant Select Swamp Ash body with a Translucent Satin Black finish. The 21" scale Maple bolt-on neck has a Rosewood fingerboard and it is real easy to play on. The tuning of the bass is like a standard 5 string bass guitar (B-E-A-D-G). The proprietary polyurethane strings provide great bass feel and balanced tension. The pickup on the bass is a Shadow "piezo" bridge type and it is run through a Custom Mi Si Align 2-band eq. preamp rechargeable system using battery free technology (the bass can be recharged in 60 seconds for up to 8 hours of playing time!). The sound of the bass lies between an upright and an electric bass and it produces a warm deep tone.
