One of the coolest Signature Series Martins ever. Dion Di Mucci is the original Dion, of Dion and the Belmonts, the iconic rock group of the late 1950s-early 1960s, with such huge memorable hits as Runaraound Sue, The Wanderer, Ruby Baby, and more. By the late 1960s, Dion had gone on to his own stellar solo career, with a mega-hit recording of “Abraham, Martin, and John”, a tribute to Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King, Jr., John F. Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy. Dion is quite still around, still performing, and is the occasional visitor to our store, being the true native New Yorker that he is. We have just gotten this fabulous, rare Martin, number 6 of only 57 made, from its original owner and it is in equally fabulous condition. With its great cutaway body style, mahogany back and sides with true ebony fingerboard and bridge, genuine German-made Schaller tuners, it’s a player’s dream. Aside from the real, inked-on signatures of both Dion and CF Martin IV on its label, one of the things I do truly love about it is the New York skyline, in heart-of-abalone pearl inlay, tastefully done on the peghead. Enough; I don’t think you can find another one of these available, anywhere, and it’s a wonderful guitar in the bargain.
