Description

If your tastes in acoustics run towards the the spectacular, then you may wish to give this instrument a look. Offered is this incredible J-45 built in 2014. It was obtained from a Martin Experience event which Martin hosts to demonstrate to dealers what their Custom Shop is capable of. This one-off piece has a top made of high-altitude, grade 8, Swiss Alpine Spruce with light bearclaw figuring. The back and sides are made of highly figured Cocobolo. Black Ebony is used extensively on this guitar for the binding, endpiece, heel cap, tuner buttons, fingerboard and bridge. This guitar has been given 45-series cosmetics, with extensive use of Paua pearl. The scale length is 25.4", the nut width 1 11/16" and the string spacing 2 1/8". See the link below for the full specification sheet. As a J-sized instrument, the sound of this guitar has amazing presence, while it's tight waisted body makes it relatively comfortable to play for a large body acoustic. The tone is clear and crisp with all the lows and middles you could ask for, all wrapped up in an exquisitely beautiful package. As a 2014 Martin Experience instrument, this guitar has seen light and careful play, with the only evidence of such being on the pickguard (a new pickguard from Martin is included). In all other respects this guitar is in as new condition. Built to have a retail price of over $15K , this guitar would have had a street price of over $12K. This lightly played one-of-a-kind instrument can be yours for much less. It comes with it's Custom Shop case, shroud, a new pickguard and all the paperwork. A very, very special large body acoustic indeed!
