Description

1162897 Based on the prized 1937 D-18, Adirondack spruce top (unlike later incarnations with Sitka tops) with forward X-brace and scalloped Adirondack bracing, aging toner on top, mahogany back and sides,

20-fret ebony fingerboard with abalone dot inlays, ebony bridge with long saddle, non-adjustable T-bar neck reinforcement, Brazilian rosewood peghead overlay,
hide glue used throughout the construction, Waverly vintage-style tuners, fossil ivory nut and saddle, black body binding

Excellent condition except for repaired center seam crack below the bridge. It sounds huge, without doubt, the most resonant guitar in my collection yet it is surprisingly light- it floats in your hands.
Sold for over $7000 new at Guitar Center bought from a dealer with the crack- no previous owner The wide grain top is very pleasing. Back has a few minor scratches that have been buffed out to almost disappear.
