1956 Martin D-18 Very Good, Hard, $4,995.00

A timeless Martin D-18, from the 1950s, shows a lot of playing wear but is structurally 100%. No noticeable cracks anywhere though a few tiny areas on the sides do show some minor incursions, inconsequential, especially in light of how it sounds, how it plays, and where it's been. Former property of Oliver Ray, longtime accompanist to Patti Smith, this guitar went on the road with them for years. Oliver bought it from us maybe fifteen years ago, took it out while with Patti, had it up through sometime last year. Plays like a dream with, thankfully, its original saddle, still uncut and untouched, which would indicate one of the very best neck resets I've ever seen.
