DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is a well worn but oh so sweet sounding 1963 Martin D-18 acoustic guitar in its original natural finish. Features of this D-18 include a dreadnought body style with a spruce top w/ mahogany back and sides as well as a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, bridge and headstock overlay. This old warhorse has been through the ringer and has a laundry list of repairs that follows: side repair / patch area and overspray on the treble side of the body, multiple cleated side crack repairs and touch up in some spots, back touch up and possible patch area underneath the neck joint, two cleated repaired back cracks, pro refret, and neck reset, bridge has been modified and filled to accommodate and different style saddle, the tuning keys have been replaced, pickguard is likely replaced, and obviously this guitar has been played to death. With that all said, it is easily one of the best sounding and playing 60s era D-18s we’ve seen recently and plays in tune up and down the neck with no issues. Pro setup in house and comes complete with a non-original hardshell case.
