Description

Here's a 1959 Martin D-18E in Natural finish. Ultra rare example!! This is the exact year and model that Kurt Cobain used for Nirvana's historic MTV Unplugged performance (which sold for over $6million at auction). Dreadnaught body shape, with a spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and two beautiful sounding original DeArmond single coil pickups. The guitar has one professionally repaired crack on the top, two on the back, a few small ones on the side just outside of where the input jack is. Everything is completely structurally sound. The guitar benefits greatly from a wonderful neck reset, and has easy playing low action down the fingerboard. Can't stress enough how great it plays! The last 1959 D-18E on Reverb was listed for $45k and sold. At the time of this listing, there are none available. Incredible guitar for collectors, Martin enthusiast, Nirvana enthusiasts, and players!! Comes with an original late 60's Martin D-28 case...
