  • Condition: Excellent
  • Description: This 1963 D-28 has what is perhaps the highest appreciated, but at the same time almost dull quartersawn Brazilian rosewood we've ever seen on a early 1960s Martin, The condition is excellent except for a few superficial hairline stress finish cracks, that are not through the wood, among them a small pickguard crack that is repaired, also the bridge has been changed. There are some dings, chips and schratches, but nothing serious and overall this is a excellent example of an all original early sixties D-28. The top has beeautifully aged, and the guitar is all Original finish, with original pickguard that is almost perfectly flat. The neck also has the original finish, and comes with the original Grover Rotomatic Patend Applied for tuners. There is no need for a neck reset, and the frets still seem to be the original. on the back it shows one stress hairline crack, also no through the wood. probably caused by rough handling or dry circumstanes. It's hard to see unless you know it's there. All that fine print aside, this is an excellent sounding and looking 1963 D-28. The tone is bright and balanced, with dynamics typicall for rosewood guitars, with lots of volume and projection so the guitar is suitable for a wide range of playing styles. If you love Old Brazilian D-28's and appreciate it like we do, you you'll find a great companion in this guitar. A Geib case is included
