This is the last D-28 from the old factory.
Slightly rounded head shape, tortoiseshell pickguard, and long saddle.
The bridge pin and endpin with pale tortoiseshell dots are very nice and atmospheric.
This is a gem that allows you to enjoy the early 60's specifications visually.

It has a sharp sound with overwhelming sound pressure, and once you play a stroke, it has a response that makes you think, "Oh, I like this.

The top of the body has been oversprayed and there is a strap pin attached at the neck end. The strap pin has been installed in a different place in the past, and the wood has been refinished and oversprayed in that area.
