The early 1970s produced some of the solidest guitars Martin ever made, ever. I can clearly recall getting in new ones from Martin almost every day back then, opening the cartons, and saying to myself How great is this going to be in twenty-five years? It is now about forty years, and I always keep my eyes peeled for nice examples from that period; this 1971 D-28 is certainly one of them. No repairs ever needed, no cracks other than that tiny thing at the inner edge of the pickguard, so common on older Martins; ditto pickguard replaced, very neatly done. Original genuine nut and saddle. It sounds BIG, and clear and strong and all of that, a fabulous flatpicking instrument for the ages. $3595 w/ohsc
