Perhaps Johnny Cash's most favorite Martin guitar (and he played many) was a specially made D-35, his — and Martin's — first guitar with a polished black finish. Perfect for "the man in black," Cash played this guitar on stage for nearly 20 years. Now Martin has paid tribute to this musical legend with a close facsimile of that special instrument: the Martin D-35 Johnny Cash acoustic guitar!

This stunning acoustic was masterfully-built in America from an East Indian rosewood back and sides construction situated with an Engelmann spruce top, along with scalloped forward-shifted X-bracing for a tremendous sound. The multi-stripe abalone rosette stands out with an elegant shine, bringing the Black pickguard and grained ivoroid binding together for a complete look that shines under the stagelight.

As enjoyable in feeling as it is in sound, this beautiful Martin has a Modified Low Oval standard taper select hardwood neck, propped by a dovetail neck joint and shined with black side dots. The ebony fingerboard is perfect to play, with abalone and mother of pearl star inlays, a grained ivoroid and multi-stripe binding and Cash's iconic signature. Rounded-off with chrome enclosed tuning machines and an old script-style headplate logo, this acoustic has everything you want and more.
