  • Description: The GPCPA1 is the flagship model of Martin’s recently introduced Performing Artist series. Featuring the company’s new Grand Performer body, highly sophisticated Fishman F1 Aura on-board amplification, a modern neck feel and stylish looks, the GPCPA1 will likely appeal to a wide range of players. The Grand Performer A1 has a cut-away 16” wide body, hybrid scalloped X bracing, solid Indian rosewood back and sides and a Sitka spruce top. The neck features a fast low oval neck carve with a wider 1-3/4” nut width and 25.4” scale. Glossy lacquer finish, fancy pearl CF Martin headstock inlay and Arrows and Squares fingerboard inlays; body, neck, and headstock bound with Ovangkol, gold hardware. At the heart of the Performing Artist series is the Martin / Fishman F1 Aura pickup system. Easily the most sophisticated acoustic guitar amplifying solution we’ve encountered, the Aura’s features are many. The GPCPA1’s Aura is programmed with 9 selectable microphone images (sampled from this model of guitar with various fancy and expensive studio mics), which can be blended in any amount with the guitar’s true pickup signal. Three band EQ’ing is available on each Aura image, as well as on the Piezo signal, for further customization. Then, Fishman added a player controlled compressor, and a three-stage intelligent notch filter for feedback control. Oh, and there’s a phase control, stable and accurate chromatic tuner, and easy-access endpin mounted 9V battery box. The pickup is a simple and great looking device, too, with only two low profile control knobs and a small tuner window visible on the side of the guitar. All that adds up to some of the best plugged-in acoustic guitar tone available, and you get to enjoy ‘That Martin Sound’ when you’re unplugged! With Deluxe hardshell case
