The D-28, the standard and pinnacle of acoustic guitars.
We are pleased to introduce a 1981 HD-28 Pre-War Reissue from the original Martin.
The HD-28 has been in the lineup since 1976, and the "H" refers to the herringbone decoration.
Many custom models have appeared in the lineup, including a vintage reissue model called HD-28V, but this is a special model that was ordered to reproduce the specifications of the Pre-War period.
Compared to the HDs of the 70s, this one has a slightly narrower and edgier V-shape, which is more typical of the Pre-War reissue.

The scalloped X-bracing is placed slightly toward the bridge and is a 1940s specification.
The sound is more elegant than the forward version, and you can enjoy a dense sound with a lot of information.
With strong strokes, you can enjoy a sharp sound with a quick response, and with fingerstyle, you can enjoy a very excellent Martin sound with a solid core sound and well-balanced output of each string.

[Condition.]
The condition of the neck and wood has been inspected and adjusted by a professional acoustic guitar craftsman, and all parts are in excellent condition.
The neck has been straightened and tuned with no chatter or jamming, and the string height at the 12th fret is 2.7mm on the 6th string side and 2.1mm on the 1st string side, which are set for comfortable playing conditions.
The saddle protrusion is approximately 2mm.
There is no crack repair history, and the only change from the original is the saddle.
The original pickguard is slightly lifted due to age, so you may consider replacing it if you like.
