Summary: The HD-28 includes many of the options guitar players and collectors prize in historic Martins. A Sitka spruce top with East Indian rosewood back and sides, all wrapped together in Martin’s classic herringbone inlay.

Body: Dreadnought 14-fret body size. Solid Sitka spruce top. Standard “X” scalloped bracing. Solid East Indian rosewood back and sides. Style 28 rosette. Herringbone top inlay. White binding. Zig-zag back purfling. Polished gloss nitrocellulose finish.

Neck: Solid mahogany, low profile shape. Diamond volute. Dovetail neck joint. Ebony fretboard with dot inlays. Bone nut. Satin finish. 25.4” scale. 1-11/16” nut width.

Pickups/Hardware: Solid black ebony belly bridge with compensated bone saddle. 2-1/8'' string spacing at bridge. Chrome enclosed tuners with large buttons. Tortoise pickguard.

Cosmetics: This guitar is in excellent condition and looks to be barely played. Some very light pick scratches on the tortoise guard are about the only signs of wear.

Playability: Playing is smooth with no buzz or dead spots. The action is good with plenty of room at the saddle for adjustment. True to its lineage, this dreadnaught is a cannon, with a loud, balanced voice that responds exceptionally well to being driven with a pick.
